The first place we wanted to visit when COVID restrictions were lifted for a little bit was Baguio City. We wanted a change of scenery and, at the same time, cool weather and a quiet place where we can go out and breathe in the fresh air. Baguio City it is. Testing the waters and experiencing the new normal of travel.
When we were looking for a hotel to stay in, we were quite happy that the prices are lower than usual. But my parents wanted the price to be lower than low. We then turn to Airbnb and we found our answer.
A room in the Forest Lodge at Camp John Hay that usually cost 3,000 to 5,000 pesos, we got it for P1,388 per night. A super great deal that we immediately booked it. BOOK IT HERE!
It is a privately-owned 1-bedroom unit big enough for 4-5 persons that has 2 beds, a large bathroom, and a small kitchen. BOOK IT HERE!
The room has all the amenities that a hotel room has: towels, iron, TV, Internet Wifi, a huge refrigerator, a first aid kit and even an extra bed! BOOK IT HERE!
I think the owner, Richard, is a Korean so one of the rules is to leave the shoes at the cabinet by the entrance where indoor slippers are also provided.
Richard also has other listings in Airbnb that is inside Camp John Hay. He has rooms in the Manor and even a forest cabin! Check them out here!
We choose room 435 because it was the cheapest. LOL! But it was enough for a 3-person family. It was, actually, more than enough!
Airbnb has evolved to include an Enhanced Clean feature that includes a 5-step process which makes us feel safe checking in at the hotel:
Sanitize surfaces
Use of approved products
Thoroughly clean
Wearing of mask and gloves
Washing of all linens
And following all other local guidelines
Staying in a hotel in Camp John Hay with the price of P1,388 per night is a huge steal. We were able to relax, walk around and breathe the fresh air of Baguio City. The lobby is very beautiful, espcially with Christmas decorations, and peaceful, no noisy tourist. And the staff are very friendly! We definitely enjoyed our stay here and will consider booking this place in the near future.
